I have just been listening about Ella Bullock a 97 year old lady who is still working 5 days a week at her hat shop in Scotland. She loves life to the full and has such a positive attitude that is very catching. She just got babtised she would have done it earlier but she was so busy. The last doctor she visited asked her what her diet was as she is so healthy. "chocolate in the morning chocolate at mid day and a bit of chocolate in the evening". A fantastic lady and her love for life is amazing. It brought a smile to my face on my Monday commute.

Get back on the horse

So its been a while since I last posted and waffled on about changing how I do things.

I got all hyped up and ready to change, I had a plan I kept to it for a few weeks. Then like most my life got in the way and I didn't follow through on my plans.
I think this is why self help gurus say only 7% of people are truly successful. The 7% keep up their self improvement and drive on no matter what life throws at them.

Then it got to the point where I thought can I just start again or am I not using the right plan to make my life more.
Beating my self up over not sticking to the plan.
I started looking around at different plans and gurus to follow.
Only to realised these plans really are just the same kind of material presented in different ways.

"Set you goals, visualise the life you want, make a daily action plan. Create a master mind group be who you want to be".

The point I realised is I was on the correct path, I just slipped off a bit. Don't panic don't give it all up, just get back on the horse and go again.
I know I can create a better life for myself my family and maybe even help some other people on the way.

If I do my 6 action list every day and my personal work to improve, good but if i miss out a day, move on don't dwell on what I have could have done treat every day as new.

I hope my posts will improve as I improve and maybe my thoughts will cause some thinking with anyone who has a look.

WebSites

So I am creating a new web site, its a hobby site about older cars.
Not classics as such but cars that are not brand new but still great to use. Or the even older cars that have or are going to be modded to keep up the new tin on the roads.
If any one out there has any good stories about their cars. please let me know as I would love to publish your experiences.

Not sure how this site is going to make me any money as yet, but I want to build up a nice community around it.
Anyway as soon as I have the site address I will start pushing it out.

SEO

Ok so I am starting to play about with the web a lot more.
I have been creating my test site, its not public yet but I will let you know as soon as its up.
But I have been asked by my brother to do some SEO on the site for his ceramic tile buisness.
So I have been reading up on this stuff and how to do it.
If you google for Tiles Kent his site the "Tile Cellar" http://www.thetilecellar.co.uk/ is on about the third page.

First I have to get the details of where the site is hosted and update a few things on the site. Like add the new shop details and put the address on the site. You have to navigate a link to find the map link, but I feel it should have the address on the first page (let me know what you think).

Then i have to start implementing the seo steps to see if we can get the site onto page one.
Any tips people have I would be greatful to hear and test them out.

6 actions

So I have implemented a new technique for getting things done.
Its not a new technique its not even that tricky to do.

It is basically defining 6 actions that you need to do.
These actions are to get where you want to be.
To strive for you perfect life style. Not to walk the dog, wash the car etc.

Put then into priority 1 highest and don't more on to the next one in the list until you have completed the previous one.
If you complete the day and still have things left on you list, they are the highest priority on the next days list. Simple.

I just have to see if I can keep it up.
I will let you know.

Back after a short break

OK

I have just come back from a week away and I am feeling ready to continue my growth.
I have been reading a book by James Ray "Harmonic Wealth". Its some interesting stuff. I think I am going to put into practice. When reading these kind of books its easy to get all excited and then put it down and forget all about it.
But as I am in the change my life kind of mood its time to experiment.
So I am going to follow James teachings for 6 months and see where I am in April 2009.
I will be keeping you posted about my progress and trials and tribulations of trying to change how things happen in my life.
Who knows maybe I could impart some knowledge that might be help full.

Parkingson's law

"Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion."

Have you ever thought ok I have 3 hours to finish this then I am out of the door to start my weekend. Then you three hours fly by and what you started that would take three hours suddenly is taking 4+ hours. You are starting to tear your hair out as you cannot see the problem. I find that just stepping away for a few minutes, make a cup of tea, wonder to the water cooler helps. I think its all to do with the subconscious working on the problem when you are doing other things.
That is something I am going to read up on I remember coming across the concept when reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill I think. Anyway I managed to solve my problem but not until I missed my train home and got home late to start my weekend.
